The Different Types of Yo-Yo.
As a yoyo player you probably have already been introduced to the great world of yoyos and yoyo play. There are many different types of yoyos out there, and it’s just a matter of your choice (really) to fit your style.
First of all, if you didn’t know already, there are 5 categories mainly how you can a yoyo. 1A is a basic style of yoyoing when a yoyo is attached to the string and the string then is attached to your finger. 2A is looping yoyo tricks, 3A is tricks with two 1A yoyos – one in each hand, 4A is offstring yoyo play, 5A is counterweigh. You can read more detalised descriptions about these styles by searching Google or Wikipedia or different yoyo sites out there, they have a lot of info also on more advanced styled, combining the ones mentioned above, etc.
Well, you should definitely try out all of the techniques and perhaps stick with the one you like the best, but you should never forget how to play a basic 1A style yoyo. Because the industry is developing dramatically and more advanced and stylish yoyos are coming into the market.
As well as different companies are trying to make better performing and better looking yoyos, different online (and offilne) stores are trying to attract the customers – the yoyo players, or the people who buy yoyos for somebody else. So if you would like to just go out there and buy a yoyo, I would suggest just a simple one for maybe $30 max.
Good luck, and don’t forget to practice!
